The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC) is pleased to celebrate the opening of A Bird’s Eye View with a public reception at the Betty Mae Kramer Galley and Music Room on June 16, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. A Bird’s Eye View features contemporary sculpture and drawings and sculpture-based works by county-based artists Susan Hostetler, Beverly Ress, Dalya Luttwak, and Beverly Ress and Susan Hostetler. The opening reception is free and open to the public.
A Bird’s-Eye View focuses on contemporary artists inspired by the natural world whose work examines and challenges the way we see and perceive the world around us. Included are Hostetler’s exploration of bird iconography across both mediums, Luttwak’s site-responsive steel structures of the root systems, and Ress’ intricate drawings of scientific specimens on cut and sculpted paper. A Bird’s-Eye View is organized by AHCMC and is curated Amina Cooper, Public Art Manager.
